First Times: FLiXTRAIN!

When we booked the trip to NYC, we weren’t thinking too much about it. Too be fair, thinking of me leaving Europe for the first time got me nervous a bit. But in the end the price was just to good to think too much. ;)

One downside of travelling on budget was, that instead of Airbport Cologe/Bonn, Düsseldorf or Frankfurt our flight departures from Hamburg. 🍾 Okay, it is not too far away, but still definitely not our first choice.

First we thought we would simply travel by car to Hamburg. But after the first few horror stories about jetlag on the way back from NYC, we were just afraid I wouldn’t make it. So how then? Train? DB? Pretty expensive. FLiXTRAIN? Not bad! For about €9,99 from Duisburg to Hamburg: no second guessing ;) And now that we are in the train, it just feels like travelling Deutsche Bahn… 🚋
